Book Beginnings on Friday at Rose City Reader is the place to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires.
I'm literally just pages into The Ophelia Cut (Dismas Hardy Series #14) by John Lescroart, so I'm not quite sure what to make of the opening lines yet.
"Anthony Xavier Ricci never set an alarm clock because he never needed one. When his eyes opened in the darkened room after a fifteen-minute afternoon nap, he didn't move for a couple of minutes, letting full consciousness creep up on him."
My first thought was wondering how much good a fifteen-minute nap really was. Sounds like an intriguing character though.
I do like to take brief naps, but usually they're an hour. And then I'm refreshed. Fifteen minutes? Probably not...lol
