Teaser Tuesday (7)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"So what are you going to do? Give each potential husband the barf test?" he asked.  "Puke on his shoes and see what happens?"

I Like Him, He Likes Her: Alice Alone; Simply Alice; Patiently Alice by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor pg. 409.

Although I had never thought about it until this line, it would be nice to have a husband that didn't get grossed out when you were sick.  I love the dialog between Alice and her brother, Lester in this book - makes me wish I had an older brother, too.

Book Blurb:
Find a Penny pick it up and all day long you’ll have good luck…except, of course, if that Penny is charming and pretty and funny, and the person picking her up just happens to be your boyfriend. Alice McKinley’s freshman year is not as “lucky” as she was hoping it would be. But she’s is trying to look on the bright side. There are worse things than being single for a semester… for a school year…for the whole summer…. At least Alice can count on her best friends for support—in theory, anyway. Lately they haven’t been all that there-for-her. In fact, it seems like Pam and Liz are suddenly involved in intense, secret conversations whenever Alice is around.
Single is starting to feel a whole lot like solo.

  1. This sounds like a charming YA book. The barf test is a new one to me!
